Ingredients (with quantities):

    👉 225g unsalted butter (room temperature)
    👉 200g granulated sugar
    👉 1 egg
    👉 440g all-purpose flour
    👉 1 tbsp cocoa powder
    👉 1 tsp baking powder
    👉 2 tsp vanilla extract
    👉 1/4 tsp salt

    For Decorating:
    👉 Isomalt
    👉 Sprinkles
    👉 Royal icing

Instructions:

Making the Cookies:

👨‍🍳 1) Use a (stand)mixer to combine all cookie ingredients into a dough.

👨‍🍳 2) Knead the dough into a ball and roll it out between parchment paper.

👨‍🍳 3) Chill the dough for 1-1.5 hours.

👨‍🍳 4) Cut bear-shaped cookies using a cookie cutter and remove the middle part with a heart-shaped cutter.

👨‍🍳 5) Bake at 180°C for 20-25 minutes.

👨‍🍳 6) Allow cookies to cool completely.


How to Decorate:

👨‍🍳 1) Heat isomalt until it reaches 160°C. Optionally, add gel food colouring.

👨‍🍳 2) Pour isomalt into the heart part of the bear cookies. Let it cool for about 20 minutes.

👨‍🍳 3) Use royal icing to create facial features on the bear.

👨‍🍳 4) Add sprinkles and pipe royal icing around the edges.

👨‍🍳 5) Seal with another cookie and let the royal icing harden.
